Heart Screenings

Thanks to an Edwards Lifesciences Corporation grant awarded to the Conemaugh Health Foundation, several free heart screenings are going to be available to the public. The first two dates are as follows:
- March 4: MMC's Main Campus, Good Samaritan, 3rd Floor, Cardiac Fitness Center
- March 18: Penn State University Extension Office, 499 Manor Drive, Ebensburg
Screenings will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The primary screening is the Heart Risk Assessment with Lipids/Glucose, in addition, the individual can have a carotid, PVD or abdominal aortic aneurysm screen. To register call the Conemaugh Nurse Connection at 1-800-587-5875.

To recognize February as National Heart Month, Windber Medical Center (WMC) and the Windber Research Institute (WRI) kicked off a project to raise funds for research on cardiovascular disease at WRI.
