Tobacco Cessation

According to the American Heart Association, cigarette smoke and chewing tobacco use, high blood cholesterol, high blood pressure, physical inactivity, obesity and diabetes are the six major independent risk factors for coronary heart disease that you can modify or control.

The next tobacco cessation class will begin February 28, and will be held every Tuesday for six weeks from 5-6 p.m. in the Garden Court at Memorial's Downtown Campus. For more information or to register call x1990.

Heart bracelet fundraiser
To recognize February as National Heart Month, Windber Medical Center (WMC) and the Windber Research Institute (WRI) kicked off a project to raise funds for research on cardiovascular disease at WRI.
Heart Screenings
Several free heart screenings are going to be available to the public in March, thanks to an Edwards Lifesciences Corporation grant awarded to the Conemaugh Health Foundation.
